About this piece
Mies van der Rohe first used this daybed in 1930 in Philip Johnson's New York apartment, and showed it in Berlin in 1931 as part of a bachelor's apartment: a tufted leather mattress and bolster on a walnut-stained frame raised on steel legs.
Made to order in the Urban Architecture Masterworks Collection. Walnut-stained hardwood frame on leather straps, chrome-plated tubular steel legs, tufted leather mattress and bolster.
