Designed to accompany the dining suite commissioned by Wendell Cherry for the Humana Building in Louisville, Kentucky, these Michael Graves consoles carry the architect’s classical sensibility into furniture. Cherry sought an unreserved expression of Graves’s signature style, giving him full creative control.
Made by Craftwood Products in bird’s-eye maple and briar, each cabinet pairs a curved, two-door body with dark columns and a projecting dark top. The richly figured wood gives warmth to the architectural composition: a base, columns, and cornice arranged around enclosed storage. Together, the pair brings symmetry and presence to a dining room or entrance hall.
