Sanremo is a floor lamp designed by the famed collective Archizoom Associati in 1968. It weds the Italian music festival of the same name w/ the oriental esotericism dear to our collective imagination of Western culture. Originally designed as a wedding present by group member Dario Bartolini, he recalled "Since we were supposed to be practicing architects, many people often couldn’t grasp what we were up to. In reality, many of our objects were created for reasons other than architecture: an engagement party, a wedding. Any opportunity was good enough to materialize our vision of the world!!
