About this piece

Eileen Gray's armchair of stacked, curving leather tubes first appeared in the Paris apartment she designed for Suzanne Talbot in the rue de Lota. Gray herself nicknamed it Bibendum, after the Michelin man.

Made to order in the Urban Architecture Masterworks Collection. Curved hardwood frame covered with foam, leather upholstery, chrome-plated tubular steel base.
